To help an individual learn to navigate successfully through a recruitment process to get the job offer. The support provides coaching on job search skills with the key elements in understanding the decision making model, addressing the job criteria, the production of a resume and cover letter and all communication skills from interviewing techniques and networking skills.


Katrina believes Career Support is effectively managing change. Focusing on what is important now and how will this support the future.

A systematic process is followed:

  • Understanding the situation and needs

  • Understanding self – values, interests, skills, motivators

  • Establishing clear and sustainable goals

  • Strategic planning & honest analysis of goals versus ability

  • Action planning - Development of a Resume, Cover Letter, Networking and Interviewing skills - Decision making support on a new career pathway (including what HSC subjects to choose/what university course to study)

Over a 20 year period, Katrina has built a strong reputation for achieving results for clients. She has worked for leading career consultancy firms such as DBM Australia and LHH Australia. She has written and integrated career management programmes within 6 degrees for the Australian College for Physical Education and has ran a successful private practice. Katrina holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (Career Development) and is a member of the Australian Career Counsellors Association.

The individual that does not know what they want to do for a career and or struggling with their tertiary, university education decision. The support will help the individual with self-discovery of what is important to them and their future lifestyle. This includes their current interests, personal values and realistic academic capability. Katrina has helped numerous students make sustainable decisions on the next step from HSC. Explaining the tertiary education courses and what type of jobs / careers they can expect from them. She talks about ATAR scores, their significance and the varying cultural aspects of different industry sectors. Katrina has direct experience in the sectors of Sport, Education, Corporate, Government, Health, Environment and Community. It is support that helps simplify a fairly daunting question for young people entering a world impacting their future selves! Katrina makes it easy to make good decisions and helps ‘settle the dust’ from all the worry.


 

2. The Job Seeker

The individual whom has a short term need to gain employment. This job seeking support can be done quickly and or with appropriate time for a managed planning process to ensure the targeted job opportunities are the right job for the individual. The timeline would determine the extent of the self-exploration and industry research process to identify the best fit for the individual. A focus on the importance of sustainable job decisions to align with the individual’s future needs occurs with this support. The emphasis on being happy in your job is an important link and direct impact to being happy with life. Katrina is also an advocate towards people creating a ‘side-hustle’ to help with the finances!

3. The Career Builder

The individual who wishes to explore a strategic career plan for their future. The person that understands the importance of having an active career management plan in order to advance. An individual that seeks advice and guidance to determine the optimal strategy plan for their own personal lifestyle and career satisfaction. People will be encouraged to participate in industry research as well as self-awareness activities to ensure there is enough evidence towards a new career plan. Katrina will have honest conversations on any gaps or potential challenges towards executing new strategies and seek accountability from the individual towards changing/adapting their behaviours to achieve success. It is a very exciting and high energy program full of optimism and positivity growth mindset.
